You can't beat the De La Salle by turning the ball over and making mistakes. And, that's what Corona Centennial did in Saturday night's CIF Open Division championship game between the two.
Corona Centennial put the ball on the ground seven times, losing three fumbles in a 48-24 loss to the Spartans, who won their fourth straight Open Division title. The Huskies were also penalized 12 times in the game.
Despite a 28-7 halftime deficit, the Huskies did try to make a game of it in the second half, but could only get within 14 points.
PE.com reports that the Huskies still put-up some impressive offensive numbers in the game, which closed-out a record-setting year for the offense.
