Friday Night Southern California High School Football Scores - Week 2
by Jeff Fisher
High School Football America
We got our first look at Orange Lutheran tonight as the Lancers improved to 3-0 under first year head coach Chuck Petersen with a 42-7 win over El Modeno.
OLu jumped-out to a 21-0 halftime lead mixing the run and the pass. Last week the Lancers only threw the ball once in a win over Damien.
Tonight, the Lancers opened the scoring with a 34 yard touchdown pass from Luke Langdon to Brady Phillips. Then with under three minutes to go in the first half, Phillips found the end zone when he was on the receiving end of a 75 yard flea flicker.
Now here are the rest of the scores that have been reported to us:

Thursday Night High School Football Scoreboard - Week 1
by Jeff Fisher
High School Football America
We made our first trip to La Habra tonight to watch the Highlanders host La Mirada.
It felt good to be on a field with real grass for the first game since we moved to Los Angeles for the start of High School Football America - SoCal on KLAC AM 570 Fox Sports Radio. Nothing wrong with turf, but it's hard to beat a natural grass field, in my opinion.
La Mirada improved to 2-0 on the season with an offensive explosion at the start of the game that saw the Matadores score four touchdowns in the first 12-minutes. After opening a 28-13 first quarter lead, the Matadores, ranked #1 in the CIF-SS Southeast Division, rolled to a 45-27 victory.
La Mirada put over 500 yards in total offense against La Habra's defense. The victory snaps La Habra's three-game win streak over its nearby rival.
The Matadores were led on offense by senior quarterback Gerry Myres, who tossed three touchdown passes with no interceptions. 6-5 wide receiver Dallis Shipp caught six balls for, two for scores. Running back Johnny Hills had a big night with two touchdown runs and nearly 200 yards rushing.
La Mirada head coach Mike Moschetti was a guest on our inaugural High School Football America - SoCal radio show on AM 570 Fox Sports LA. You can listen to that interview by clicking here.
Here are the rest of the scores as reported to High School Football America with assists from the Daily Breeze, Daily News, LA Times, The Press-Enterprise, OCVarsity, Ventura County Star and an assist at the end by Ed Gonzalez of the Los Angeles Sports Journal.

California High School Football Scores - Week 0
by Jeff Fisher
High School Football America
When you've seen over 800 high school football games in-person over the course of 43 years, there's not much that makes you do a double-take.
Well, that happened at tonight's game between Compton and Tesoro in Las Flores.
To set the scene, I walked to the Compton side of the field so I could shoot highlights of the game with the home stands as the background. After the first series I looked at the "chain crew" and realized that all four members of the crew were female...that's right it was an all-female crew!
If you still don't believe me, the picture is the proof.
During a break in the action, I walked-up to them and told them that in all my days of watching and covering high school football or football at any level, I'd never witnessed this. They smiled and were excited to hear that I said I'd be back with High School Football America - SoCal reporter and executive producer Trish Hoffman to do a feature video story about them.
On the field itself, I was impressed with Tesoro, which enters the 2012 season ranked #11 in our preseason Big Schools Top 20. The Titans got out to a quick 14-0 first quarter lead behind quarterback Matt Adam and running back Nate Tago.
Compton closed to within 14-8 in the second quarter, but the Titans scored two touchdowns within 35 seconds and opened a 42-8 halftime lead. Tesoro finished things off with a 55-14 win.
With 17 starters back from last year's 8-5 team, the Titans are expected to make some noise in the solid top-to-bottom South Coast League.
I'll post highlights from this game tomorrow.
Meanwhile, below we'll post the final scores from throughout the area courtesy of our friends at the local media outlets, plus the wonderful World of Twitter.
